From Academy Award-nominated filmmaker and best-selling author Sebastian Junger and his Emmy-winning filmmaking partner, Nick Quested, HELL ON EARTH chronicles Syria’s descent into the unbridled chaos that allowed the rise of the Islamic State, better known as ISIS. The film was released theatrically in New York City and Los Angeles, and it aired globally on the National Geographic Channel in 171 countries and 45 languages on Sunday, June 11, 2017.
Working with National Geographic, Picture Motion engaged think tanks, non profit organizations, and influencers and experts in order to build awareness the rise and impact of ISIS, for the film’s broadcast premiere on June 11, 2017, as well as greater awareness for the current Syrian refugee crisis.
