About the Campaign

The National Geographic Channel and Before the Flood filmmakers seek to bring climate change conversations to college campuses across the U.S. in the weeks leading up to the election, in order to drive voter registration and voter participation around climate change.

Our Work

National Geographic engaged Picture Motion to bring Before the Flood to 50 college campuses and in 4 swing states in the weeks leading up to the 2016 Presidential election. We also created a Strategic Communications Memo around the issues in the film and impact campaign as well as develop the screening kit for college campuses.

The Impact

By November 2016 we had confirmed over 200 screenings of the film on college campuses, arranged two large-scale screenings in Miami, FL, and contributed to Before the Flood becoming the most watched documentary in 16 years. We also brokered a partnership between Rock the Vote and theSKIMM to drive voter registration on college campuses.
